Gee... thanks, America.
Thanks, America. You're absolutely wonderful. In your great wisdom you just elected a racist, misogynist, xenophobe as your next leader. This con man hasn't paid taxes in years, lost nearly a billion dollars in business dealings in the past and refuses to pay people who've done an honest day's work for him.
The Great Orange One makes up his own words, doesn't believe in climate change (even though the vast majority of scientists say so) and mocks the parents of dead American soldiers, the disabled and anyone else who doesn't share his point of view.
This reflects poorly on you not only because of your total lack of better judgement, but also because this man most likely mirrors your own belief systems. And that, sadly, is even worse (if anything could be worse).
Now we (the rest world) have to deal with the fallout. Because whenever your big ass moves it causes ripples that can be felt continents away. Not only are you setting yourselves back decades, the rest of us are caught in your wake.
Dumbasses!

Somewhere Between
I caught most of this movie on TVO (TV Ontario) a couple of nights ago. I was just flipping channels when I saw it. So I missed the first bit unfortunately.
The story of the adopted girls (who came from China to America) and the difficulties they faced regarding their situation (of being adopted) was very touching.
In some cases they had questions regarding their birth parents. Everyone wants to know their origin - where they came from, if they had brothers or sisters, etc..
Another problem some of them struggled with was the notion of being abandoned by their birth parents. This was very hard for them to deal with.
On that subject I just watched another documentary called "Echoes" on TVO online in which the interviewed birth mothers from China about this. Let me tell you, in general they were disconsolate about their decisions to give their children up.
In some cases they faced outside pressure to give birth to a son, yes. But, in others, they just couldn't afford to take proper care of another child. So, in their minds, it was for the benefit of their baby that they gave her up. It was because they loved you that they "abandoned" you.
I just want to say, you are loved. Your birth mother loved you enough to give you up to have a better life. Your adoptive parents loved you enough to cross continents to find you and bring you home. Don't ever forget that.

Honey Boo Boo... What the heck?
This plain just wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. Wrong.
One of my Facebook friends posted something recently about the TLC reality show: Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. I had never heard of it before and went to their website to find out more about it.
Here's what it says,
About the Show
Take an inside look into life with "Honey Boo Boo" where the six-year-old pageant sensation (Alana Thompson) proves that she is more than just a beauty queen.
My goodness... Has it come down to this? Our lives have gotten so bad we have to resort to watching this rubbish to start feeling better about ourselves? Is that it? This is just reinforcing the stereotype of the uncouth American to the rest of the world. And you wonder why so many people feel disdain towards you?
P.S. - Whoever thought up the idea of beauty pageants for children should be cracked across the head with a bat.
P.P.S. - The Learning Channel... what is wrong with you? What are we learning here? We're not learning anything except how ridiculous Americans can be. When mothers and their children dress up like clowns that's what you're portraying.
